The Cuban Erislandy Lara retained the title super welterweight World Boxing Association (WBA) to win comfortably by unanimous decision to Ishe Smith in a fight on Friday night at the Illusion Theater in San Antonio, Texas.

Lara (20-2, 12 KO) won his style to a frustrated Smith (26-7, 12 KO) who never found the Cuban and it was an easy target throughout the fight.

Smith started well in the first round, when he found Lara still cold, but from the second Cuban began imposing his technique. In his usual style, Lara did not force more than necessary fight, he made sure to win rounds one after another.

In recent rounds, Smith tried to press but could not change the pace of the fight. Finally, two judges considered the winner Lara scores 119-109 and the third 117-111.

After the match, Erislandy Lara repeated that wants to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.
