Ammar Musawi, Hezbollah leader, met with the Ambassador of Cuba in Lebanon Rene Ceballo Prats, to send his congratulations to Cubans to achieve the restoration of diplomatic relations with the United States.
"The achievements of Cuba, which was firm in its principles, are a lesson for all peoples of the world who suffer from American hegemony" said Musawi, who congratulated the regime in Havana to "thwart the political, economic and military siege of Washington against Cuba for over half a century ago."
According to a statement from the "press office" of Hezbollah, "the visit was an opportunity to congratulate the leaders and people of Cuba for the release of five Cubans who were detained in US jails for over 15 years."
The European Union, United States, Argentina, Australia, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Israel and Bahrain consider Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
There is international opinion that the Cuban government has provided intelligence to the network, with its epicenter in Venezuela, dedicated to facilitating the arrival of Islamist militants to Latin America.
