Pitcher Orlando Gómez Barroso, team of Santiago de Cuba, escaped from the island and is located in another country, waiting to get residency and become a free agent.
Gómez, 24, played three seasons in the team Santiago. In National Series wore number 94 and he had come to throw 94 miles per hour. Currently has a speed between 91 and 92 miles.
"I am calm, and I want to tell my family I'm fine. Now I seek a representative, a company that help me find a good contract in baseball," said Barroso.
His escape is the third of a Cuban player this week. Dainer Moreira and Vladimir Gutierrez left on Tuesday team participating in the Caribbean Series in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
