Once again a Florida politician leaves his intention to change Cuban Adjustment Act to prevent Cubans welcomed in the United States as political refugees to return to Cuba before being  American citizens; that is, at least five years.
This time it is Republican Carlos Curbelo who will submit a legislative proposal to amend the regulation adopted in 1966. To him Cubans who return to the island are abusing the law and benefiting the Cuban government, returning home immediately after getting their residences.
Proposals as Curbelo immediately generate tension in those with plans to reach US borders or, are already in the country but still lack legal residency.
