Cuba is negotiating with a bank in Florida to restore banking services to its embassy in Washington, said on Tuesday the Head of the US Interests Section, Jose Ramon Cabañas Rodriguez, to members of the Greater Manatee Chamber of Commerce, in Bradenton, Florida.
The restoration of banking services -which ceased 15 months ago when the bank M & T cancelled the contract-, is one of the demands of the Cuban government to re-establish relations.
In general, the diplomat warned that the normalization process will be long. "Relations with the United States were never normal, even before 1959," he added.
