The OT -1060x model of Alcatel has gone on sale in the shops of the Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA). There are long lines to buy them. This model, with very low performance and discontinued since 2013, has become very popular among Cubans for its low price (26 US dollars or 625 Cuban pesos). The average monthly salary in Cuba is about 23 dollars a month.
To purchase them, many have to sleep several days in the lines without knowing if there are enough of these items. ETECSA only allows its customers to purchase one of these phones per person.
