Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, the first great American musical group to reach Cuba after the announcement of the re-establishment of relations between Cuba and the US, today toured the National School of Music, as part of its five days agenda in Havana.
Invited by Cuban cultural authorities to participate in the 19th International Fair Cubadisco 2015, the more than 100 artists shared their knowledge with students of the institution, which brings together 530 students from across the country.
The students received donations of instruments and the guests left surprised, some even joked that they were eager to go back to school with "buddies as prepared and as good teachers."
Directed by Finnish Osmo Vänskä, the group will be presented to the public on Friday at 8:30 pm at the National Theatre, a show to which they invited the Maestro Frank Fernandez, the National Choir of Cuba and Leo Vocal Chamber choir.
