"It was a great visit. I was with my friends, with the people who, as the Serbian one, appreciates their freedom", said last night President Tomislav Nikolic, at Jose Marti International Airport, at the end of his official three-day visit to the island.
When referring to the Order of the Republic of Serbia, award he granted to Fidel, the head of state stressed that the Cuban leader told him that he will not ever take it off.
As published in the Official Gazette of the European nation, Fidel was distinguished "by the outstanding merits in the development and strengthening of friendly and cooperation relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Cuba."
"I fulfilled my dream of seeing Fidel", Nikolic said.
