Cuban government is building 1,200 more hotel rooms by 2016 in Varadero

Varadero investment program plans to build 1,200 rooms more for 2016, reported Ivis Fernandez, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur by its Spanish acronym) in the province of Matanzas.
During a meeting with journalists, Fernandez said that the amount of rooms will be built in the complex called Las Conchas, where it is scheduled to open one of its sections next August and the second one on May next year, Prensa Latina reports.
The Mintur official explained that, in turn, 620 hotel rooms of different facilities of this resort are undergoing repairs, while another 300 will be on maintenance next season.
Fernandez said the constructive plans to expand the options of Varadero city include starting earthwork of an aquatic theme park, and the construction of a second golf course.
