Under the title "Teaching the Next Generation of Scientists: Professional Workshop for Latin American Science Instructors', the Institute of the Americas offer 30 scholarships for workshops given by Latin American secondary school teachers. The purpose is to provide them the training and experience needed for, when going back to their countries, teaching science, technology, mathematics, among other subjects, in a more attractive way to students.
By offering the selected teachers experience in laboratory work, putting them in contact with professionals and experts in different fields and training them with innovative teaching methods, they will be better prepared to encourage in their students' interest in studying science.
In the web of the scholarships there is an exclusive link to the candidacy of Cubans.  Workplace, educational level, subject as well as personal and curricular data are fields to be covered by the Cuban teachers interested in being part of the selection process.
