Arne Sorenson, president of Marriott International, Inc. said that Cuba is high on his wish list for the expansion of the hotel business, in interview with LinkedIn.
"I would love to be in Cuba and we will go as fast as we can find a way to do it," said the businessman whose company based in Bethesda, Maryland, has properties in 80 countries.
"The laws of the United States have not evolved enough to let us enter into Cuba in the traditional way we develop hotels. So we'll have to see how this evolves. But for the American traveler Cuba is clearly a curiosity," added the president of Marriott International, Inc. which operates hotels and resorts licenses under 19 brands, the most representative in Marriot hotels with 500 hotels and resorts in 60 countries.
