The giant Google has sent an executive to the island to explore the possibility of faster Internet access in the country, reports Gazetta Review.
According to a State Department official, the company has already made a proposal to the Cuban regime. The publication states that the presence of the executive reflects the interest of US companies to be present in Cuba.
Brett Perlmutter, Google executive and member of a team designed to solve the biggest problems of technology in the world, and this one of Cuba is one of them, participates in a five-day trip to Havana with many other representatives of US companies looking to expand their business to the island. The man from Google "will focus on helping the Cuban government to improve access to the Internet," said a company spokesperson.
