University of Holguin promotes studies on gender and equity
The center for studies on gender and equity belonging to Oscar Lucero Moya University, in Holguin city, develops several researches on the problems that still limit the full participation of women in society.
Ania Pupo, researcher of the project, said on Monday that the main objective is to explore the perceptions that affect the environment of this sector of society.
According to psychologist, the research showed that there are issues in homes that differ in the lives of women, such as the distribution of income, as they generally spend more on products and goods for the family than men.
She also referred to recurring topics addressed by these women in the consumption of alcoholic beverages and the inadequate treatment they receive at times by the male figure.
