The Cuban flag was raised this Monday in front of its embassy in the United States for the first time in 54 years, during the ceremony to reopen the embassy in Washington.
The event, in which the Cuban anthem was also sung, was chaired by Bruno Rodriguez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean nation.
The US Embassy in Cuba was also reopened yesterday in Havana, but the flag will be raised for the first time in Havana when John Kerry, Secretary of State visits Cuba next month.
