Cuba will launch in the second half of 2016 a new plant to produce soft capsules, in order to obtain products such as Palmex, an antioxidant with beneficial effects in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
It is a technology transfer to the Caribbean country by a company in the PRC, said Dr. Blanca Rosa Hung, general director of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNIC by its Spanish acronym), according to Prensa Latina news agency.
The Palmex is a kind of abductor of free radicals and increases the body's antioxidant response. Evidences has shown that its antioxidant effects are manifested in plasma, liver, brain, prostate and other tissues.
For five decades the CNIC helps raise health and quality of life of the Cuban people, with results available to the entire population.
