The official press of Havana municipality of Artemisa recognized the numerous acts of corruption occurred in the Mariel Development Zone, specifically in the Mariel Construction and Assembly Company.
Diversion of funds, theft, labor indiscipline, inadequate control and apathy are some of the things mentioned by journalist Maria Caridad Guindo from Artemisa in her article "Discipline to promote a decisive work".
The mention of the state of corruption in Mariel, which appeared in the local press, happens while a surprise audit by prosecutors, and several municipal leaders have been arrested and the Party Secretary and officials of Popular Power have been replaced for the prevailing corruption.
