Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will ask on Friday to Congress to lift the embargo on Cuba during a planned visit to South Florida, where she will participate in two public events, her campaign office reported today in a statement.
Clinton will urge Republicans to abandon the "failed policies of the past" during a speech at Florida International University in Miami, where the largest community of Cubans in the United States resides.
The former Secretary of State will also ask support to the rapprochement between the US and Cuba announced last December by the governments of Barack Obama and Raul Castro, who sealed it last July 20 with the reopening of their embassies in Washington and Havana.
