On the occasion of the visit of John Kerry to Havana to hoist the flag at the US Embassy the State Department has issued a video in which it tries to explain the importance of this moment for both nations.
The three Marines who folded the flag in 1961 and will again hoist it on August 14, 2015 are the protagonists of this eight minutes story that begins remembering the 90 miles that separate the United States and Cuba, a very short distance, but in the last 50 years "they became an ideological and political barrier".
Jeffrey DeLaurentis, Acting Charge d'Affaires of the embassy, introduces James Tracy, Mike East and Larry Morris, the military that 54 years later will again hoist the American flag in Havana.
