Getting three or four medals is a possible aspiration for Cuban athletics that will definitely participate with 25 competitors in the 15th World Championship, which starts next Saturday in Beijing.
Daniel Osorio, Cuban head coach, announced today that forecast shortly before a brief training session with triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo on the track at just few meters of the majestic Bird's Nest.
“I think that purpose is possible, but I will not put colors to the medals,” he said.
In addition to Pichardo, leader of the ranking of the season with 18.08 meters, the delegation of the Caribbean island relies on pole vaulter Yarisley Silva and discus thrower Denia Caballero, also leaders of their specialties.
