Raul Castro sent a letter to Alicia Alonso to thank ballet dedicated to his late wife, Vilma Espin.
The head of state praises what he described as a beautiful homage to Vilma and the women´s federation, an organization to which Vilma dedicated most of her life, Raul noted.  
The ballet piece recalls Vilma´s life and revolutionary work from very early childhood stages up to her days as revolutionary fighter along Raul Castro and her leadership of the Cuban Women´s Federation. The piece was illustrated with pictures of Vilma, including her wedding ceremony with Raul Castro.
