A group of five Cuban doctors who work in Haiti visited on Friday at the port of the Haitian capital the American hospital ship USNS Comfort, invited by the US government, diplomatic sources informed. The members of the Cuban Medical Brigade working in Haiti were accompanied by the Ambassador of Cuba in the Caribbean country, Ricardo Garcia Napoles.
The visit was part of the welcoming ceremony of the American ship, with the participation of the First Lady, Sophia Martelly, and the ministers of Health, Interior and Sports of the government, among other Haitian authorities, who expressed their appreciation to the Cuban doctors.
Doctors at the Greater Antilles toured different areas of the hospital ship and shared with their American counterparts, the sources added.
