In Cuba Irish party leader

Ana Maria Mari Machado, VP of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), received Thursday a delegation from the Irish party Sinn Fein, led by its leader Gerry Adams.
During the meeting, Mari Machado thanked the visitors' gestures of solidarity towards Cuba, mainly related to supporting the cause of the Five and the lifting of the blockade.
The VP of the ANPP spoke on the work currently performed by the Cuban parliament. She also addressed issues such as the restoration of relations between Cuba and the US, the updating of the economic model in the country and the role of youth in the Cuban political process, among others.
For his part, Gerry Adams said there is a lot of solidarity with the Cuban people in Ireland and said he was interested in strengthening relations between the two countries, mainly from the work of the party and the parliament.
