Cuban Minister travels to Lebanon to promote investments in the island

Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment arrived today in Lebanon to promote business of the Arab country on the island, state media announced.
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Beirut, Malmierca was welcomed by the Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, who was eager to expand investment of capital in several areas of Cuba.
During the meeting between the two officials, they discussed the second forum of businessmen from Lebanon and Cuba, which will be held on Friday in the Lebanese capital with entrepreneurs from more than 25 local companies. Changes taking place in Cuba to update the economic model and promote foreign investment were also discussed.
Malmierca also mentioned Cuba's new foreign investment law, with the approval of the Special Development Zone in the town of Mariel (ZEDM), and gave a brief explanation of the current state of the ties between his country and the United States after restoring diplomatic relations.
