Monetary unification in Cuba -announced since 2013- could be within a month, officials sources from the island assured to a US delegation, said the website of the American media Northern Public Radio.
Republican Congressman Rodney Davis, who visited the Caribbean nation in a business mission with the Democrat Cheri Bustos, revealed that during the trip he was told by Cuban officials on early unification, which he considers essential to start business in Cuba.
For Davis, the dual currency brings only greater inequality, so the only way that the Cuban people can benefit from the increasing of tourism due to the new opening is to have a single currency.
The official also expressed optimism about opening an office-based Cuba, through a joint working group already created in Illinois and which was the organizer of the trade mission of agricultural type.
