The French fashion house Chanel announced on Wednesday that Cuba will present its first parade on a catwalk in Latin America and will do it with its Cruise collection on May 3, 2016. The presentation manager is German Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of the firm.
The brand, founded by the iconic Coco Chanel in 1909, will present the collection Cruise which every year they take out of France to present it in paradisiacal destinations such as Miami, Venice and Seoul. For 2016, the choice was the largest of the Antilles, which will gather fashion leading figures in Havana in one of the most expected fashion events.
Lagerfeld said he is honored to present the collection in Cuba because "the cultural wealth and the opening of Cuba to the world, make the country a source of inspiration for me and Chanel."
