Cuba and Niger strengthen implementation of the Program to Fight Malaria

Cuban experts with the Labiofam Pharmaceutical Labs Company are joining a local Malaria campaign in the African country in an effort to reduce the fatal impact of that disease on the population.
The Cuban specialists expressed their willingness to meet the aspiration of President Issoufou Mahamadou to reduce the lethal levels of Malaria, which the main cause of death in Niger. For this effort, the two sides signed a cooperation accord during an official visit by Niger´s president to Cuba in September 2014.
The internationalist Cuban mission to Niger include clinical and surgical procedures in remote areas, the development of educative campaigns, mass vaccination, epidemiological and hygienic control as well as assistance of victims of quakes and other emergencies.
Cuba´s Labiofam company expanded vector control programs through Africa, including the countries with the Economic Community of Western Africa.
