For the first time in the history of the Cuban Revolution a US president visits the island to strengthen the links between its citizens and the relation between the countries.
Obama made this statements in a meeting to greet the staff of the US Embassy in Cuba and their families, including children, and expressed his hope that when they grow up "look like something natural that a US president is in Cuba."
At that meeting, held at a hotel in Havana, Obama was greeted with applauses by diplomats and staff of the embassy, and thanked both their jobs and business manager of the legation, Jeffrey DeLaurentis.
