DR of Congo wants to establish relations in sports with Cuba
Amos Mbayo Kitenge, president of the Olympic Committee of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) endorsed today in Kinshasa the will of his government to establish cooperative ties with Cuba, a nation that exhibits great development in sports.
We have low level of sport practice in the country, in the international arena we only participate in three sports: taekwondo, handball and soccer, recognized Kitenge during a visit to the embassy of Havana in Kinshasa, where he spoke with Ambassador Marcelo Caballero, PL reported.
He noted the need to establish strong ties of cooperation with states such as Cuba, which has great development in the sport worldwide.
DRC will attend the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, scheduled for August 5 to 21, with a delegation of eight competitors in athletics, boxing, swimming, taekwondo and judo, as well as five coaches.
