American Airlines opens offices in Havana, Cuba

The US airline has opened its first offices in Havana, in the Miramar neighborhood. With this opening American Airlines begins its investment plan on the island.
The company becomes the first US airline to be established in Cuba in the last 50 years. The advancement of relations between the US and Cuba is well exemplified.
The opening of the first offices in Cuba coincides with the start of the high tourist season, which is scheduled to begin next November. Cuba faces this season hoping to beat historical records in number of visitors to the island.
American Airlines currently has 35 weekly flights to Cuba and expects to increase that figure. On September 7 the first flight of the company to the island arrived at the city of Cienfuegos. Later that same day, another aircraft landed in Holguin from Miami.
