Next November 21st will be exhibited on the silver screen the Cuban film Mañana, of the filmmaker Alejandro Moya (Iksánder), who had previously made television and video works. The movie has been included among the films to be presented in the 28th edition of the Havana Film Festival and will compete in the Premiere category.
Moya, scriptwriter and director of the film was surprised by Cubasi.cu in one of the sets at ICAIC studios precisely working on the soundtrack. Still when the young director didnt want to spend a minute of his work, or that a detail escaped his attention, he talked with our website about this feature film and also about the importance of cinema as a social phenomenon.
He confessed he had a natural inclination for art since he was a little boy and especially audiovisual. In his particular case, its not a job is something that runs in his veins and which he uses to express ideas.
"What I do show a world of psychology within the one we live in and at the same time I am a narrator who frame after frame, image and sound achieves a level of interest while connecting the spectator with the work without creating false expectations in the storyline".
The also son of Eduardo Moya, well-known director of the Cuban television (Los commandos del silencio and Algo más que soñar), defines himself as an artist who cant get rid of his poetry nor of the world of images in his mind.
Besides he asserted that Cuban cinema begins to awaken in the Island. "If Cuban movies are produced, promoted and exhibited, people will certainly crowd theatres, since they are eager of that, and filmmakers will be at risk of being applauded, stoned or ignored that is a risk we must run", asserted in exclusive to Cubasí.
How did you approach the world of audiovisual?
I was born in the world of audiovisual, my family is made up by actors and directors, I grew up in a TV studio and a set, and its something I carry in my blood.
Its like you were inspired by what your father has done (Eduardo Moya)...
My dad has helped dearly in my formation since I was a child, and at the same time its something that comes with me, its like a natural inclination I always had and its so strong at times that keeps me awake.
My live does not go far from the audiovisual, and I must say that many of the things I know I learned them on my own and were perhaps enriched by my direct relation with people like my father.
Could you say something in advance to spectators about the story you tell in Mañana
A few hours in the life of a Cuban family of this moment we are living, precisely on the main characters birthday (Rafael Ernesto Hernández), a 25-year-old man who does many things which inevitably will lead him to others which will be wholly surprising for the spectator.
For the film climax the main character will be accompanied by the actors: Violeta Rodríguez, Hugo Reyes, Adria Santana, Enrique Molina, Mario Balmaseda, Dayana Molina, Lieter Ledesma, Amanda Sánchez, Yurelis González, Leonardo Benítez, David González, Serafín García, Dianelis Brito, among others.
The photography direction was in charge of the experienced Ángel Alderete, the edition was of Carlos Alberto Carnero and the score of Esteban Vázquez.
