Announcing official selection for Camagüey 's Theatre Festival

Most important Cubas theatre event runs October 12 - 22 at its regular venue in the province of Camagüey. The city of earthenware jars will host a professional contest for actors, directors, playwrights and designers seeking to get the speciality award and the Grand Prix to be granted by a high-level jury.
Amidst the candidates there are some competitors that repeat participation such as Grand Prix awardees Teatro Buendía, Teatro de las Estaciones and Argos Teatro playing the pieces Charenton, La virgencita de bronce and Stockman, respectively.
Regarding the childrens theatre - this year seems not to give the lustre of previous years- Los cuenteros trouppe in El barrio de la Martina and Guiñol Theater in Remedios con Caramelo will be on the list.
New generation of actors working for Guiñol Polichinela play Lo que te voy a contar, Arteatro stages Papobo, Teatro Retablo stars El ruiseñor and Teatro del Viento can be seen in Historias sobre el camino; the host provinces sole piece in competition. The Guiñol of Holguín plays El ogrito, Teatro Tuyo performs Parque de sueños, Teatro Icarán troupe stages Espantapájaros and actor René Fernández and his Teatro Papalote will play Danilo and Dorotea.
Regarding the adults theatre things are more solid outside the capital city because Estudio Teatral Macubá comes from Santiago de Cuba to play Restos de la noche and the Colectivo Teatral Granma presents El poder de la imagen. Also Cienfuegos group Teatro de la Fortaleza offers Tigre. Morón Teatro stages Los herederos del tiempo. Teatro Rumbo of Pinar de Río will present Vagos rumores.
And in Havana theres Mefisto Teatro in Escándalo en la trapa; El ciervo encantado in Visiones de la Cubanosofía; Teatro El Público in Santa Cecilia and Teatro de la Luna in Delirio habanero.
In total 23 releases are scheduled including puppets live performance, hall theatre and street theatre with repertoire approaching classic Cubans and international authors, besides musicals and experimental theatre can be seen in this edition.
