The renowned Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramírez has once again demonstrated his determination for a successful return to the ring with his latest post on the social media platform X. His message appears to be a response to the team of his next opponent, Mexican fighter Brandon León Benítez.

Just hours after trainer Ricardo Cumings declared that his protege would be aiming for a knockout, "El Tren" Ramírez posted, "My comeback will be legendary..." This statement was accompanied by an image showing him with closed eyes and arms raised in victory.

Whether the message was directed at Cumings or not is known only to the former World Boxing Organization Featherweight Champion. Ramírez is set to face León Benítez after losing his title to another Mexican fighter, Rafael Espinoza. The bout is scheduled for June 29 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami Beach, Florida, a venue that seems advantageous for the two-time Olympic champion during his amateur career.

Trainer's Bold Predictions

On this subject, the Mexican coach told Solo Boxeo, "It's logical that the crowd will support their fighter; Miami is like his home. But that doesn't scare us; we've fought under these conditions before."

However, the most striking comments were about the expected outcome of the match. "Our goal is to win by knockout, something that won't give the judges a chance to take our victory away," said Cumings, figuratively throwing an uppercut.

Despite Ramírez's reputation, Cumings made it clear they are determined to win: "This is our moment, and we are going to put Brandon Benítez's name on the line for a world title fight. Benítez is at his peak, and we won't have any excuses if we lose, but I have no doubts we'll come out victorious."

Currently, the Cuban boxer boasts 13 wins, two losses, and eight knockouts as a professional, while his opponent has 21 wins, also two losses, and nine knockouts.

After the fight was officially announced a few days ago, Ramírez wrote on his social media: "On June 29, my mission to reclaim my world title and return to the top begins. Cuba vs. Mexico once again, and I'm excited to have the loyal support of the Cuban community in Miami. So, bring your flag."

"It will be an electrifying event. The journey is far from over. My comeback will be legendary. El Tren is back!" he added.

In July 2018, Ramírez left the Cuban boxing team’s training camp in Aguascalientes, Mexico, while preparing for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Following this news, the state-controlled press launched a fierce attack on him. "Attitudes like these stray from the values and discipline that have characterized our sport, which remains committed to making the greatest possible contribution to the Cuban delegation in the regional competition," the report stated.
