A severe crash took place on Tuesday afternoon involving a car and a motorcycle on the Vía Blanca Overpass in Havana. As of now, it remains unclear if there were any injuries.
"I just passed by and saw it on Vía Blanca, I don't know the details," said Yohandry García, a member of the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!". He shared a photo showing the damage to the front of the car, with the bumper detached.
Another user, Miguel Sánchez Guerrero, recorded a video from his car, capturing the two vehicles collided in the middle of the road.
An online user pointed out that this stretch of the Vía Blanca Overpass always sees accidents near the CUPET exit, while others argue that this particular incident was caused by an improper turn by the panel van.
"It happened before the 40 km/h sign. Judging by the position, it looked like the vehicle was exiting the CUPET and trying to turn left over the yellow line," speculated a woman.
"I passed by 5 minutes earlier, and that car was erratically trying to switch lanes, almost cutting me off. They don't respect the right of way at all," complained a user identified as Moto Piezas.
