Three years after the disappearance of Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez in Centro Habana, feminist platforms on the island are urging authorities to issue an official alert for missing children and adolescents in Cuba. In a message posted on Facebook, the platform YoSíTeCreo en Cuba reminded everyone that "today marks the anniversary of when Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez, at 16 years old, was last seen in Centro Habana." The emotional post asserts, "Mayde, we have not forgotten you, and your alert remains active," and expresses solidarity with the family, especially with the teenager's mother, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro, who has relentlessly demanded that the search continues.

"We call on the authorities to keep investigating this case and to keep the family informed. We reiterate our demand to the State for the urgent need of an official alert for missing children and adolescents in Cuba," the publication states.

The teenager was last seen on May 30, 2021, at the Campanario and Malecón park in Centro Habana, wearing patterned leggings and a grey t-shirt. Since then, there has been no evidence of her whereabouts.

"The first thing they told her mother, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro, at the police station was that her daughter had likely disappeared because she was a prostitute. This has been repeated meticulously to several family members," the post questioned.

In June of last year, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro expressed her deep disappointment with the police's handling of her daughter's case. She noted that at the time of the disappearance, both had a good relationship, and she also had a good relationship with her father.

"It has been very hard for me, too hard, because it's not easy. She is my daughter, and all her belongings are here. It's tough to wake up every day and think about where she might be, whether she's okay, if something has happened to her, if she's being mistreated, or if the rumors are true that she is pregnant and afraid to come back," the visibly emotional woman stated.
