Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvani Hernández Sierra, better known as Chocolate MC, has been accused of issuing death threats against his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend.
Chocolate MC appeared this Friday in criminal court, presided over by Judge Mindy S. Glazer, after being transferred from Miami-Dade's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TDK). According to América TeVe, he has been held there since May 10, following an unrelated arrest.
América TeVe released a video of the artist's court appearance, where he was charged with threatening Cuban influencer and musician Diosnel Martell online while Martell was in a relationship with Hany Díaz, Chocolate's ex.
On April 4, Yenni Álvarez Torres, Diosnel's mother, reported that her son had received death threats on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. The next day, Yosvani Sierra was arrested by Palm Beach County authorities after being sought for days for the alleged kidnapping of Hany Díaz.
In an interview with influencer Un Martí To Durako, Hany Díaz stated that Chocolate MC forced her into his car, threatened to kill her, sexually assaulted her, and then fled. A friend, known as La Muñeka, confirmed that she witnessed the kidnapping and was also assaulted by him.
Just over a month later, charges against the Cuban reggaeton artist emerged. Un Martí To Durako shared his police record, listing charges such as "sexual assault without severe injuries, kidnapping, firearm possession, aggravated assault, and sudden snatching robbery."
It was later revealed that the incidents took place on March 31, when Chocolate intercepted his ex-girlfriend and a friend in a gray Honda Passport after they exited an Uber outside an apartment building on the 1700 block of 27th Avenue in southwest Miami. He forced his ex into his car and drove her to Palm Beach County.
