Limay Blanco Gifts Home to a Struggling Mother and Her Children

Monday, June 3, 2024 by Ethan Navarro

Limay Blanco delivered the 37th home this weekend to a mother and her two children who were living in subhuman conditions.

In a video posted on his social media, the comedian explained that the process of purchasing and renovating this home took nearly four months due to the difficulty of gathering the necessary funds.

Blanco shared that after requesting help, he faced a barrage of criticism. The mother even asked him to take down the video plea because she was being offended. However, Blanco refused to remove it. He contributed the first $1,000 himself, and with some additional donations, they managed to collect $2,500 to buy the house.

However, the property required extensive repairs, particularly in masonry and electrical work, which further delayed its readiness. Finally, thanks to the assistance of several people who organized through a WhatsApp group called “Los Intemperie,” they were able to fix the house and gather everything needed to furnish it and make it livable.

The mother expressed her deep gratitude for the gesture towards her and her children and even showed Blanco a photo of him and Glenda that she plans to display in her new living room. The photo includes the words: “I want to thank God first and these two people and MCCV for giving my children a better future.”

Blanco first brought attention to this case in March when he highlighted the deplorable conditions in which the family, including an elderly member, was living. The images revealed a makeshift home constructed from various materials: tarps, nylon, cardboard, and even pieces of iron sheets.

In late March, Blanco had delivered the 36th home to a young Cuban girl with a disability, affectionately called "the pink girl" due to her love for the color.

Project: Help a Christian

Blanco recently announced that he is preparing to launch the project “Help a Christian,” aimed at assisting Christians in Havana who are living in poor conditions.

The comedian hopes to deliver three homes on August 20th, marking the fourth anniversary of the Christ Changes Lives Ministry, and reach a total of 40 homes delivered through donations. He urges Havana pastors to contact him to identify families in need of housing who would be entered into a lottery.
