An accident involving two motorcycles occurred on Tuesday morning on the busy Carretera del Morro in Santiago de Cuba. Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada reported on Facebook that the crash took place on Carretera del Morro, between 11th and A streets, in front of the Virgen Felizola Sports Complex.

"One of the individuals involved is a military officer, and the other person is the owner of an electric scooter who, allegedly, ignored the stop sign," the reporter noted, based on information provided by his followers.

In the comments section, several people emphasized that accidents in Santiago de Cuba often involve motorcyclists. A person named Mario López blamed the poor condition of the roads, inadequate signage, and the scarcity of traffic lights.

Maria Leysi argued that these accidents are largely due to the reckless and irresponsible behavior of the drivers.

In April, a similar accident occurred on the Carretera de Siboney, near the Puente de Hierro in San Juan, and it appears that one of those involved died at the scene.

In May, another crash involving a car and a motorcycle took place in the Flores district, also in Santiago de Cuba. The car driver took the motorcyclist to the nearest hospital, according to eyewitnesses.
