Description not available

On Thursday morning, the body of a man showing signs of violence was discovered near a bridge in the city of Santiago de Cuba, according to journalist Yosmany Mayeta. "Apparently, the man was beaten, strangled, and then thrown off the bridge known as El Elevado," a local source told the reporter.

"He is from Reparto Altamira according to his identification and what I heard the police say," the witness added. Hours later, Yosmany Mayeta identified the victim by name, adding to the growing wave of violence plaguing the country, particularly the city of Santiago de Cuba.

"Carlos Santiago Larduet Salazar (Alias 'Sambia') is the man who was found dead this morning under the 'El Elevado' bridge at the intersection of Paseo Martí and Avenida 40 in Reparto Nuevo Vista Alegre," Mayeta Labrada, a Washington resident who has become a key figure in reporting incidents in his province due to his extensive follower network, stated.

According to the testimony of a family member who wished to remain anonymous, Sambia was at his relatives' house in Reparto Nuevo Vista Alegre on Wednesday night, spending time with them. "He was here. The only thing he said yesterday and the last thing was that he wanted to leave, that he wanted to see his daughter... And he said, 'I'm going to urinate' and never came back," the source revealed.

The source indicated that Carlos Santiago Larduet, who was born and raised in the Planta neighborhood, has two daughters. It is presumed he wanted to see his younger daughter, who lives with her mother near the tourist road of Reparto Altamira. After the body was discovered, Sambia's family was notified by the police about the body’s appearance and went to a hospital to identify it. According to a follower of Yosmany Mayeta, a sister of the deceased man is currently traveling by bus from Havana to Santiago de Cuba.

His death has caused great distress among his loved ones, as revealed by dozens of messages lamenting his passing. Many are also questioning how long the violence will continue. As of this report's closing, no further details about the case have been released. Official media have yet to cover the incident.
