An accident occurred this Thursday in the capital, where a motorcycle and a Lada collided on a busy avenue in the municipality of Havana del Este.

A local resident shared photos showing the motorcycle, which bore the brunt of the impact, lying in the middle of the road, while the car had minor damage to its front.

"Vía Blanca, Alamar, just beyond the Monumental bridges (Berroa)," she reported in the Facebook group "Automobile Accidents in Cuba."

The witness mentioned she didn't have details about the accident but noted that she often sees numerous traffic violations in the area due to living nearby.

"In that zone, many vehicles often ignore the Yield sign when merging onto Vía Blanca. Some even make illegal U-turns on Vía Blanca. I hope there are no fatalities and that those injured recover quickly," expressed one user.

"I passed through there shortly before it happened and can confirm it was due to the two police officers stopping vehicles right on the curve. When I passed, it was chaos; they act like hawks hunting, without considering the consequences and then, boom, this happens. I feel very sorry for the victims," another commented.
