A fuel truck overturned under unknown circumstances on a runway at Miami International Airport early Thursday morning, prompting the response of 15 Miami-Dade County fire units to prevent further hazards.

The Signature Flight Support tanker truck overturned at around 5:45 a.m. on June 6, spilling flammable liquid across a large section of the runway used by private jets. The situation prompted local personnel to call emergency services, who responded immediately, according to local media reports.

Once the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR) teams arrived at the scene, located at 4200 Northwest 21st Street, they quickly surrounded the vehicle with orange cones to keep people away. Additionally, they disconnected the vehicle's ignition sources.

The driver of the truck received medical attention from the MDFR but declined transport to a hospital. Two other individuals were taken to a medical center, where they were admitted with minor injuries.

Sky10 cameras flew over the scene, capturing the rescue teams' operations. According to statements from the firefighters, their swift response significantly reduced the amount of fuel being spilled.

The incident was reported to the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM). Signature Aviation MIA serves as the fixed-base operator (FBO) at Miami International Airport, handling private jets and general aviation flights.
