An elderly man, identified as Iván Luis López Sera, has been missing in the province of Holguín for over a week, according to his family members. The 76-year-old, affectionately known as "Cañón," left his home without identification more than a week ago, as reported by Facebook user "Jesús Arencibia Lorenzo."

In his post, Arencibia described López Sera as a "light-skinned, short man with vitiligo, who limps on his left leg, has a sunken scar on his left thigh, and a right inguinal hernia." He also provided a contact number, 53390960, for any information regarding the elderly man's whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Nevalis Quintana Fernández, a close friend of López Sera, mentioned that he was a beloved participant of the Tertulias de la Tecla Ocurrente from Juventud Rebelde. Fernández described him as a "witty, jovial, and down-to-earth wanderer with a huge heart who, in recent times, has suffered from the wear and tear and illnesses of his 76 years," in an emotional Facebook post.

He added that "Cañón" always carried a "wooden suitcase filled with magical illusions" and emphasized that family and friends are desperately searching for him.

Reports of missing persons in Cuba have been on the rise in recent years due to increasing violence, the shortage of medications for patients with mental disorders, and emigration, which has left hundreds of elderly individuals alone on the island.
