Residents in South Florida have been warned about the arrival of more heavy rainfall in the coming days due to a tropical disturbance that has already caused significant flash flooding.

There is also a limited threat of a tornado or funnel cloud that could materialize in the southern part of the area from late morning to early afternoon.
Wednesday's rains caused flooding that blocked streets and highways, leaving numerous vehicles floating adrift.
According to Local 10, traffic on the main artery, Interstate 95 in Broward County, was being diverted around a flooded section, and contractors had to pump the drainage system. The Florida Highway Patrol reported it would not reopen until the water was drained.
