A 15-year-old Cuban girl named Lismailen Galban Gil went missing on June 9 in the city of Chihuahua, located in northern Mexico, where she had been living with her parents for seven months. The teenager, originally from Cienfuegos, was last seen on June 9, 2024, under unknown circumstances, according to the missing person report issued by the State Prosecutor's Office.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Women (FEM) is overseeing the search, with ministerial agents working to locate her. Lismailen has distinguishing features that include a mole on her right chest and another on the left side of her neck. She is 1.55 meters tall, weighs 55 kilograms, and has a fair complexion, regular build, dark hair, brown eyes, an oval face, large straight nose, and medium-sized mouth.

The family, who had been residing in Chihuahua for seven months, intended to cross into the United States but already had jobs and a residence in the state capital. Recently, it was reported that another Cuban, identified as Oscar Luis Marcos Roso, 62, has been missing in the Mexican state of Tabasco since June 4. In February, another Cuban went missing in Mexico while awaiting a scheduled CBP One appointment to cross into the United States.

Additionally, that same month, another Cuban named Igdelnaire Matamoros Bubaire disappeared in the city of Tapachula, where thousands of migrants from various nationalities have been stranded for months. These disappearances are part of a broader migration crisis that pushes many Cubans onto perilous routes controlled by coyotes and traffickers, where several have either gone missing or lost their lives.
