Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada shared photos of the incident on his Facebook profile. "Violence continues to plague the city's streets; it appears that two young individuals sustained severe injuries and were taken to the Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital," Mayeta reported.

A source from the hospital informed that one of the victims had to undergo surgery. The other injured individual is possibly deceased, but this information has not been confirmed. The injuries were inflicted with a weapon. According to the reporter, one of the young men was found lying on the street, bleeding profusely after being stabbed in the back.

"The pool of blood seen on the road marks where he lay until he was rushed to the nearest hospital," he detailed. Dozens of people expressed their sorrow over the incident, which has become alarmingly frequent in the city, with the main actors often being very young.
