Cuban Woman Sets Up Fridge with Cold Drinks and Snacks for Delivery Workers in Miami

Tuesday, June 18, 2024 by Felix Ortiz

Lianet Martí, a Cuban resident in Miami, has implemented a heartwarming initiative to show appreciation for the delivery workers who frequently visit her home. She installed a small fridge stocked with cold drinks and snacks at the entrance of her house, offering relief from the intense heat and soaring temperatures.

The influencer, known on Instagram as @mija_mania, shared a video explaining that recent rains had damaged the snack cart she had previously set up for delivery workers. As a result, she decided to replace it with a small fridge. She mentioned that the idea came from one of her followers, who suggested it "so that the delivery guys could have cold drinks."

Martí noted that this initiative is especially timely given the high temperatures in Miami during the summer. She felt compelled to show gratitude to the delivery workers because they regularly visit her home, delivering numerous packages due to her role as a content creator. "Not to mention the packages my neighbor sends me," she added.

"I feel it's a way to give back and say thank you to all those delivery workers who come to my house every day, even with heavy boxes," Martí emphasized. "These small gestures can brighten anyone's day."

In closing, she said, "If you're a delivery worker, from the bottom of my heart, I hope one day you can stop by my house, grab a cold drink and a snack."

In a similar vein, Cuban TikToker Claudia González launched an initiative last April for the delivery workers braving the scorching sun in Texas, by providing them with cold drinks and snacks to help them cool down.

González began a few weeks ago by leaving snacks and refreshing beverages at the entrance of her home and was pleasantly surprised to see how delivery workers left signs of gratitude. However, some started recommending she offer cold drinks, prompting her to switch from a small snack cart to a table cooler.
