Wednesday, June 19, 2024 by Alex Smith

A teenage Cuban is making headlines in the world of youth golf in Spain, proving that talent knows no boundaries. Fabrian Aguilera Chirino, a 16-year-old from Artemisa, is clear about his aspirations. Despite being in Spain for just six months, he is already emerging as a promising figure in youth golf tournaments in Valencia.

Fabrian trains at the Elche Golf School, where his instructors have acknowledged his talent, predicting a bright future if he continues his hard work. In just three months of training in Spain, Fabrian has impressed many with his technical skills and dedication to the sport that has become his passion. He emerged as the champion of the III RAC ALARM Golf Tournament and achieved excellent results in other events with significant participation, including the Alicante-Murcia Golf League and the XXII Anniversary at El Plantío Golf in Alicante.

Fabrian's journey in golf began in Cuba, inspired by Markus Rombach, a family friend and golf enthusiast who introduced him to the basics of the game.

"My current goal is to become a professional golfer. I know it requires a lot of training, but my coaches believe that I can reach a high level in a few years. My parents and this family friend who supported me in the beginning inspire me," Fabrian told CiberCuba.

The young golfer has expressed his desire to represent Cuba in international competitions. His love for his homeland has been a source of inspiration for many of his friends and family. If everything goes as planned, this Cuban could become one of the first young players from the island to compete in the professional golf league by 2027.

"I know my country will be associated with my name," the golfer said. We look forward to seeing more achievements from this young talent and following his path to the professional league, always proudly carrying the Cuban flag.
