Wednesday, June 19, 2024 by Richard Morales

After three years away from his native country, a young Cuban man decided to make a surprise trip to the island to celebrate his mother's birthday. However, upon arriving home, he was the one caught off guard by a power outage, turning the experience into a memorable one that he shared on social media.

Lázaro Abrahan Pérez Suárez expressed on Facebook, “I wanted to make the most beautiful video in the world,” but admitted that when he arrived home and found his mother in the middle of an eight-hour blackout, “I completely broke down and started crying.”

“I couldn't even record properly,” lamented the young man. Despite this, the short video shows his mother crying with joy at seeing her son after three years of absence.

“I knew you were going to do that,” said the mother, showing deep affection and gratitude for the long-awaited reunion.

Last May, another Cuban woman gave her mother the best surprise on Mother's Day by returning without prior notice after two years. This special moment was shared by the protagonist on her TikTok profile, where the beautiful scene went viral, partly because it also occurred during a blackout.
