A Cuban mother of two young children has been missing for over 24 hours from her home in the town of El Cristo, on the outskirts of Santiago de Cuba. Relatives of Mailyn Fernández Caballero, 39, reached out to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada to raise awareness about her case.
Her cousin, Nalieyis Torres, claims that Mailyn suffers from a nervous condition. "She experienced a nervous breakdown due to a lack of medication, which we have been searching for but cannot find," said Torres. Mailyn left her home early on Wednesday morning without anyone noticing.
The family attempted to report her disappearance to the Police, but were told they needed to wait 72 hours before filing a report. As a result, they turned to social media and sought public support to locate her. Anyone who sees her is urged to call the numbers 51174450 or 55550143. It is important to note that if someone spots her, they should not try to restrain her, as she can become "very aggressive," warned the family.
