Ulises Toirac and Jorge Martínez shared an emotional reunion in Havana, and the comedian quickly posted the moment on social media. This casual meet-up reminded many Cuban internet users of an episode of “¿Jura decir la verdad?,” the popular Cuban television comedy where both starred together.
“Look who I ran into. One of the most admired by me. I fulfilled my dream of working with him in '¿Jura decir la verdad?' with a very funny episode that's out there. Life sometimes gives a lot, Jorge Martínez,” Toirac wrote on his Facebook account.
“Thank you, my brother, that's so nice. Well, it's because you are an amazing kid, because you still are a kid haha,” Jorge Martínez replied in one of the comments, to which Toirac responded, “We're just kids! Eternal hugs for you.”
The comedian accompanied his post with a photo of the two taken in the Cuban capital. Toirac's Facebook post quickly garnered thousands of "likes" and hundreds of comments. Fans celebrated the reunion and did not hesitate to express their admiration and affection for the actors. “God makes them, and friendship brings them together. Congratulations”; “Oh my God, what a duo I adored them, the best, two of the greatest of Cuban television”; “Two formidable, talented, and charismatic actors with excellent stage presence each in their specialty”; “Two of the greats, one in acting and the other in comedy”; “You two are giants of our culture. We miss you on screen,” some wrote in the comments.
