Police stated that Lezcano was captured on video around 12:30 p.m. on that day, driving a 2022 Isuzu truck with an illegal homemade trailer attached, which was loaded with waste that he dumped at the site. "The CCTV clearly shows that while Lezcano was driving, another man was seen unloading items from the trailer onto the ground," said Officer Scarlett Hernández, spokesperson for the Hialeah Police Department, to Local 10 News.
The video enabled the identification of the Cuban national, who was arrested on one count of violating Florida's Litter Law and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK) in Miami-Dade. According to Hernández, after his arrest, Lezcano "fully confessed to the crime."
